I first learned of Gypsy Jazz music when I watched Sweet and Lowdown, a Woody Allen film about a fictional Gypsy Jazz guitar player. Not only did Sean Penn do a great job in this role, but the soundtrack was phenomenal. I’ve been a fan of the genre ever since.
Do you know what your Klout score is? I got an email today saying that my Klout score has gone up. When I clicked on the link to read my score, I saw that it went from 40 points to 41 points. To me, anything under 50 is most certainly a failure (a leftover from my school days). What I really found is that my score was about average. Now what?
Since 2005, I’ve been wrapped up in my internet marketing world. Every client I’ve gotten and every website I’ve created has been promoted exclusively online. I jumped on the twitter and facebook bandwagon back when they first started. I’ve also emailed potential clients, run ads on the likes of Craigslist, and performed search engine optimization for my websites to the best of my ability. The internet ruled, I thought.
I’m housebound today due to a Winter Storm Juno, a Noreaster. I am in an area of New England that has gotten around 30 inches of snow so far and I believe the number is climbing. I’ve shoveled for several hours. I even learned how to use the snow blower.
Shown here is a picture I took just minutes before I felt inspired to learn how to use it. It would have been very difficult to finish the shoveling had I not had it. Around five more inches has fallen since that photo was taken, but at least the snow removal is under control.
When social networking first started, I didn’t embrace it. By the time I signed up at Myspace, the trend was over. When I took my freelance writing business online, Myspace was just a memory and Facebook was the up and coming superstar. So, I got a Facebook account and never looked back.
Over time, I realized that social networking is a vital part of any business marketing strategy. So, I thought I’d share a list of my all time favorite social networks.
If you need extra cash, you may want to make a website for money. The nice thing about creating a website that generates income is that it is something you can do even if you already have another job.
Just keep in mind that it takes time and dedication before a new website starts to get traffic and generate income. However, if you stick with it and follow a proven business model, you’ll end up reaching your goals. Here’s an overview of the process.
Do you give yourself enough time to rest your mind? I know that when I work on my business nonstop for hours at a time, eventually I get to the point where I can tell I need a break. Usually, I find myself starting at the screen for long periods of time, or struggle to spell basic words. Sometimes, I get stuck in my writing because I am not sure where I want the piece to go, or I can tell that something isn’t working.
I thought I would share with you another video outlining two strategies that I embrace as someone who strives to be creative and successful. Morning pages are a way to clear all the junk that’s in our heads that block success. The Artist’s Date gives us a special appointment to honor our creative selves. This video goes into more detail.
One of the biggest stumbling blocks people face concerning building their internet businesses is the fact that most people don’t have a lot of time. On the surface, these struggles may look like excuses. But, after the December I had, I know that finding time to succeed can be difficult.
However, I have also learned one very important lesson. If we say that we don’t have time, that becomes the reality we strive to achieve. Once I realized this, I knew I could break myself of the habit of thinking time was too limited for me to achieve my goals. Here are some tips I learned along the way.
In the past year, I’ve researched “ways to make money fast” more times than I care to admit to. As a woman who is under transition because of a pending divorce, I’ve been strapped for cash here and there while I build my internet business the right way. Unfortunately, the right way can take some time, sometimes over a year, to see any real progress.
The truth is, most of us have random expenses to pay for. A last minute, emergency car repair. Paying the rent after a paying for said emergency car repair. Spending unconsciously and realizing your credit card bill is a lot higher than you expected. These are just some of the reasons.
